I start with a dot. The simplest, purest image possible. I cut, paste,
overlay, manipulate, print and enhance the work to a point of trompe l'oeil.
Collage creates meaning from its own structural elements and disrupts the relationship between objects and external reality. With rhythms, textures, transparencies and imagery buried and disclosed, a complexity and subtlety emerges that moves the content far beyond its initial associations. This creates a vigorous balance that captures both inner fantasy and external space. |
